CONFRONT CORRUPTION: DEMAND DEMOCRACY • A national candlelight vigil • Wednesday, July 18th, 2018
How did we end up here, with a President, a Congress and now a Supreme Court that do not reflect the will of the people?
One word: corruption.
This is a crisis years in the making. Big money in politics. The degradation of voting rights. The proliferation of right wing propaganda. Attacks on the rule of law and the norms of our democratic system.
Now, we’ve reached an inflection point. From attacks on the institutions that exist to hold our leaders to account- the press and law enforcement- to rampant conflicts of interest, ethics violations and the flagrant abuse of government offices for personal gain, the degradation and corruption of the American government by this President, his associates and many in his party has reached a profound new low.
We must urgently rise up to defend our democratic system. That’s why we will come together once more on Wednesday, July 18th for a national vigil to Confront Corruption: Demand Democracy.
Thanks for helping us get out the word! We seek to make a strong statement together to show the people power behind the fight for democracy, humanity and morality.
